I come to Roots Realty with a desire to create positive and valuable experiences for those I represent. From my early days in college sociology, geography and environmental science classes I learned the scope of pollution, concept of zero population growth, the hazards of pesticides and chemicals, the effect of the climate; and this combined with my rural background has provided me an earth based consciousness my whole life. I have studied long to be in real estate, I acquired an EcoBroker designation; I have reached into the community to preserve and respect our building heritage and our neighborhoods. I have built my career in real estate which allows me to apply my knowledge, skill and understanding in creating healthier eco conscious property ownership. And the best part is that I have found Roots Realty, where I can blend my eco values with a group of like minded real estate professionals.

I also come to this point in my life with a well grounded background in political and social consciousness. I was fortunate to have well educated and actively involved parents. My father eventually became an Under Secretary of Agriculture during the first Clinton administration and my mother started the first feminist bookstore east of the Cascades in Spokane in the 1970’s.

My roots in Oregon, the Northwest and British Columbia are numerous through generations of pioneers, sea captains, farmers and educators. I was raised on a wheat farm in the small agricultural community of Edwall, Washington, attended WSU earning BA degrees in Communications from Edward R. Murrow School of Communications and Social Studies, and have lived the past thirty plus years in Portland. Growing up I learned first hand the whims and tunes of nature and the ever changing environment, and what hard work is all about.  I still very much have the passion for digging in the soil and tending my gardens. (I sometimes describe myself as a plant that needs to be out in the sunshine.)   Professionally, I had a very successful career as on outside sales representative in office equipment sales for twenty-five years and then was finally able to pursue a career in real estate sales during the past two years. I also am blessed with a lovely daughter.

I was fortunate to buy a wonderful 1911 craftsman farmhouse many years ago with mature landscaping and gardens, and I live and breathe within the harmony of my surroundings.
